Responsible for the administration and management of program operations at a Head Start center in accordance with Administration for Children and Families, Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and ABCD policies, regulations and performance standards. Ensure that all staff support and implement the delivery of high quality services in each of Head Start’s component areas. Ensure that physical plant conditions promote the safety and general well-being of ABCD Head Start children, parents and staff at all times. Assume administrative responsibility for ensuring that all re-licensing activities as required by EEC are completed in accordance with existing regulations and procedures. Ensure that full enrollment and a waiting list equal to no less than 20% of the program’s funded enrollment is maintained throughout the school year, in consultation with the Family Services Coordinator. Develop, balance, and coordinate the annual local budget preparation process and ensures that parents and staff are involved in this process. Participate in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of all staff. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or human services preferred. Must have more than three years of successful administrative and supervisory experience, preferably in an early childhood education setting. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to manage multiple and complex tasks. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
