Department: Head Start & Children's Services
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities and organization of the professional development office for Head Start & Children’s Services, including Child Development Associate (CDA) program. Assist educators with the CDA training process with direction from the Coordinator. Maintain educator professional development tracking systems. Design recruitment and special event materials. Work closely with other departments concerning purchasing, contracts, personnel, check disbursements, payroll and other administrative matters. Oversee the department’s clerical functions and general office procedures. Assist Coordinator with monitoring the Professional Qualifications Registry. Attend required meetings and trainings on and off site. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in business administration, Early Childhood Education, or a related field with up to twelve months of relevant experience required. Must be able to work with a variety of software programs including MS Publisher, MS Word, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills. Must be willing to engage in ongoing staff development to expand professional skills. Bilingual skills and the ability to translate as necessary preferred. Must have strong decision making, problem solving, and time management skills. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
