Provide regular visits to the Family Child Care (FCC) provider homes and support the education and the family engagement components of the Early Head Start (EHS) program. Welcome FCC providers and EHS families into the program and share information about the comprehensive services available in EHS. Support, monitor and follow up with the FFC provider in the development of the family partnership and school readiness goals for assigned EHS children and families. Support the FCC provider to provide assistance to families in addressing challenges by discussing issues and/or linking them to community resources, including but not limited to mental illness, substance abuse, housing, employment, disabilities, family violence, etc. that affect their well-being. Assist with all transitions of child and family. Work with the Health and Nutrition Services Managers to ensure all requirements are up to date. Collaborate with other component staff to share records/information and arrange referral/follow-up services for health, nutrition, mental health, special needs, and social services for EHS families. Maintain and monitor a comprehensive record keeping system through documents and through database system. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, child and family development, psychology, human services, or related field, with three to five years of experience working in family child care or infant/toddler center-based and/or home visiting programs required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required. Demonstrated knowledge of child development, including health, safety, nutrition and special needs as it relates to infants and toddlers. Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills. Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with FCC Providers, staff and families Maintain knowledge of all federal, state, city and program laws, regulations, standards and policies. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
