Responsible for providing consumer education to families seeking and receiving child care subsidies funded by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Assist families with the intake and eligibility process and follow-up services, providing technical assistance and communication around the subsidy system to parents and providers. Assess eligibility and issue vouchers for families within the EEC funded subsidy system, including DTA and Income Eligible. Support parents as the link between providers in the voucher system, and assist them in changing providers. Provide technical assistance and accurate information to families regarding their role and continued access to child care voucher subsidies. Maintain files and update parent records and database information. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED and one to three years of related work experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Knowledge of Massachusetts child care subsidy system, and knowledge of early childhood development demonstrated through work experience or education. Bilingual Spanish/English skills as needed. Must have excellent organizational skills, communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office systems. Ability to travel locally, and work occasional evenings/weekends as required. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
