Department: Health Services - Family Planning
Provide individualized training and support for family planning counselors at their clinical sites. Assist in carrying out needs assessments, developing a training calendar, locating consultant trainers, and providing training in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, family planning, and STD/HIV/AIDS prevention for subcontracted agency and community professionals. Assist in providing evidence-based updates to training curricula and develop new educational materials as appropriate. Support family planning counselors in ongoing certification by reviewing/correcting family planning exams, observing on-site family planning sessions, monitoring training attendance, and developing corrective action plans as needed based on program guidelines. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Health Education, or related field. Must have three to five years of related experience working in reproductive health, sexuality or community education and training program. Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills required. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Window Applications, including Access and Excel. Bilingual/bicultural background with knowledge of speaking and reading at least one other language as needed. Flexibility to work early morning, evening, and weekend hours. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
