Ensure that food arrives to the assigned locations in a safe and appropriate manner, that children are receive nutritious meals in a timely manner and that the prevention of food borne illnesses is of the highest priority. Transport and carry meals to local Head Start centers. Deliver supplies to the center as needed. Return food containers to the kitchen each day. Maintain established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation. Conduct inventory, complete food temperature log, and deliver food to classrooms. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and up to twelve months of experience required. Active ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain a ServSafe certification within the first six months of employment also required. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be flexible, prompt and reliable. Valid driver’s license, proof of car insurance and a good driving record required. Must be able to provide one’s own transportation. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
Please note: this position is part-time for twenty (20) per week at our Allston/Brighton location.
