Assist with the overall citywide implementation of Head Start Nutritional Services. Maintain up-to-date records on children/families, and monitor nutrition records, classrooms, and food preparation facilities for Head Start programs to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. Work with the Nutritionists to ensure children’s files have all nutrition-related assessment data, including the food frequency form, height, weight, lead, and hemoglobin/hematocrit. Utilize the agency’s computerized program (PROMIS) to input data and maintain nutrition tracking information on children and families. Monitor programs to ensure that nutrition learning experiences offered to children in the classroom and parents through workshops. Participate in, and assist with, the implementation of nutrition services trainings. Review the food service records to ensure that food service staff is maintaining appropriate documentation of food safety practices. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree or 60+ credits toward a degree in Early Education, Human Services, or a related field, with one to three years of experience in an office setting required. Must have knowledge of neighborhoods served by the program and a willingness to travel to all ABCD Head Start programs throughout the city of Boston. Proven ability to work independently in an organized manner required. Must have knowledge of word processing and data entry computer programs. Ability to speak a relevant second language to the population served a plus. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
